*A "Nursing CE" is the same a "Nursing Contact Hour". "Contact Hours" are often referred to as CEUs, which is technically not correct. CEUs are earned at a college or university and can be used to meet the nursing continuing education requirement for license renewal. "Contact Hours" are what nurses need to meet the continuing education requirement to renew their license.

    Course Description

    This course is designed to explore three major leadership styles and discuss the pros and cons of each. Focus will be placed on how to incorporate portions of each style, in order to be a more effective leader.  The legendary art of leadership and creating a “Maslow Conscious Environment will also be discussed. This course will also suggest some simple Morale Boosting ideas that are sure to keep nursing personnel enthusiastic and excited about coming to work.


  • Conflict Resolution-1 Nursing CE

    Course Description

    This course is designed to provide tips and strategies for effective conflict resolution. Focus will be placed on “how” conflict amongst co-workers occurs and strategies to not only “minimize” conflict, but to create a conflict free environment. The pre-requisites for effective conflict resolution, the benefits of conflict resolution as well as the differences between managed and out of control conflict will also be explored. The final focus of this course will be the direct and indirect cost of conflict.


  • Contemporary Leadership Styles - 3 Nursing CEs
    Course Description:
    This course is designed to give an overview of past and present leadership styles. Traditional vs. contemporary leadership definitions will be discussed. Trait theory, behavioral theories, situational as well as transformational and transactional theories of leadership will be presented. Helping the student determine and understand their own leadership style will also be a key focus of this course.

  • Emerging Clinical Nurse Leaders and Motivating Staff-2 CEs
    Course Description
    This course is designed to assist nursing leaders to recognize and develop the leadership potential of the clinical nurse. Focus will be placed on first understanding the different generations of nurses that make up the average nursing department. The goals of developing front line leadership which includes building manager skills, building the talent pool, emerging clinical leaders and leveraging potential will also be presented. The ability to motivate staff to participate in the organizational and departmental goals as well as a discussion regarding the importance of shared governance will be the final focus of this course.

  • Effective Communication - 2 Nursing CEs

    Course Description

    This course is designed to provide information for effective communication. Focus will be placed on providing simple and basic communication techniques as well as helpful “peer to peer” communication tips. Important information transfer techniques such as explaining the game, listening, asking the right questions, building trust and getting the entire story will be presented. Thinking “outside of the box” to improve department communication will be the final focus of this course.
