Course Description

This course is geared is to examine the latest trends in nursing practice. Legal documentation and safe medication administration will be discussed. Assessment, care and management of the critically ill patient including airway management, Neurotrauma, mechanism of injury, chest trauma and pain management will also be explored.  Complications such as sepsis and acid base imbalances, will also be presented. Cultural competence, determination of brain death and Pathophysiologic changes of the brain death patient will be the final focus of this conference.

 

About the Speaker

Kristi Hudson has been a critical care nurse since 1990. She has her Certification in Critical Care and has also received her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. She has worked both in clinical and supervisory positions in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at UCI Medical Center which is a level 1 trauma center, and is currently the Nurse Manager of the Neuroscience Department. This Department is comprised of a 7 bed Neuro ICU and 15 bed Neuro Med/Surg Floor. Kristi’s expertise is in the care and management of the critically ill trauma patient and she is excited to be sharing her knowledge and experiences with those who attend this seminar.

~Do I need a passport to travel to Jamaica.

No. Currently you do not need to a passport to travel to Jamaica, you will need a birth certificate and goverment issued photo ID. However, we recommend that you do get one especially if you plan to travel in the future. Go to the US State Department's website for details about obtaining a passport. If you go through the US Post Office to get a passport, it costs $112 each which includes the photo.

Cancellations/Refunds/Terms and Conditions

Cancellations made less then 60 days prior to the arrival date will result in loosing the $200 deposit. Cancellations made 59-45 days prior to departure will loose the deposit and 50% of land & conference fee, cancellations made 44-30 days will loose deposit and 75% of land & conference fee, and cancellations made less than 30 days will loose 100% of land & conference fee. No refunds will be given for "No Shows". In the highly unlikely event that this conference is cancelled by this company, only monies received by DNE for this event will be reimbursed. For those that did not pay for this conference in full at the time of registration; you must be paid in full by 7/15/05 or your registration will be considered cancelled resulting in a loss of your deposit. For those that pay their remaining balance after 7/15/05; processing fees may apply, current conference rates will apply, specific room category availablities may be unavailable, if you originally requested a upgraded room and only a lower room rate is available you will not be reimbursed the difference, rooms cannot be gauraunteed by payment alone in this case...it must be confirmed by DNE, only upgraded rooms may be available which will be charged at current pricing, hotel and travel agency fees may apply and the entire amount of monies received may be not be refunded. Terms and conditions may vary at any time. Registrations made less than 60 days may result in additional fees. DNE apologizes for such a strict cancellation policy. This policy is a result of the travel agency and the hotel cancellation policy.
