1993 to present – Critical Care RN, Clinical Nurse Supervisor and Nurse Manager at UCI Medical Center, Orange Ca.
Job Duties – Feb. 1993 to January 1999: I was a clinical nurse in the SICU caring for the high acuity trauma and surgical patient. Experienced with the care and management of the kidney/liver transplant patient, open heart patient and a variety of surgical patients.
January 1999 to December 2002: I was the Clinical Nurse Supervisor for the SICU and was responsible for hiring, orienting and evaluating the nursing staff. As a clinical resource it was my responsibility to assure that the quality of care and patient satisfaction was of high standards. Other job duties included scheduling, payroll, license and competency tracking.
January 2003 to present: I am the Nurse Manager of the Neuroscience Department. This department is comprised of a 7 bed Neuro ICU and 16 bed Neuro Stepdown Unit. I am accountable for the quality, customer satisfaction and financial aspects of the department. I also manage 75 FTE’s and am responsible for the recruitment, retention, turnover, vacancy rates and employee satisfaction in the department. In this role I have also developed and implemented many clinical pathways, protocols and new procedures.
